Prenuptial agreements, also abbreviated as prenup, are contracts two persons entered into before getting into marriage. Primarily, prenuptial agreements are done for the sake of property or financial matters or in the event of marriage breakup in the future.
In the State of Colorado, a Colorado prenup is recognized. For it to be valid, a co prenup agreement should include the required elements in it.
As with prenuptial agreements in other states, Colorado prenuptial agreements should be done in writing. An oral prenuptial agreement is prohibited by law. Moreover, both persons should enter into the agreement voluntarily.
Prenuptial agreements in Colorado should be properly disclosed at the time of execution, and must be executed not by anyone else but by both parties before a notary public.
